Not every dog needs a lot of exercise. For people who are busy with work and have little time for walks after coming home, some naturally low-energy breeds may fit better than highly active ones.

Nature is varied. Some people are diligent, others are lazy. Among dogs, some are full of energy while others are naturally inactive. The following three dogs are often described as suitable for people who love dogs but do not want to spend a lot of time walking them.

Pug

The first is the Basset Hound. Its drooping eyelids and tired-looking expression already suggest its lazy temperament. With its long body and short legs, it can easily become tired after walking for a while, so it is not the kind of breed that demands constant exercise.

The second is the Pug. Careful observers notice that Pugs are often lying down. One important reason is that they have congenital breathing problems, and too much exercise can make oxygen shortage worse. Occasional walks are usually enough.

English Bulldog

The third, even lazier breed, is the English Bulldog. It often behaves as though its legs are just for decoration. It dislikes moving much and is also something of a foodie, so it is not the type of dog that becomes angry or barks loudly just because it missed a long walk.

So for people who are very busy at work and do not have time to go out walking a dog every day after coming home, these kinds of breeds may be a more realistic choice. They satisfy both the wish to keep a dog and the desire for a lower-maintenance daily routine.
