First of all, a Cane Corso puppy should never be bathed while it is still nursing. At that stage, the puppy's resistance and immunity are both relatively low. If it gets chilled during a bath, diarrhea may occur, followed by malnutrition, and in severe cases the puppy may even lose its life.
In addition, pet dogs should not be bathed during the vaccination period. At that time, there are weakened viruses in the body, and the immune system is at its weakest. If the dog gets chilled because of bathing, it may develop a persistent high fever or even more serious problems, and this stage is also especially dangerous.
Secondly, once the puppy has grown to about three months old, bathing can be considered. By then it has already passed the nursing stage, the vaccination stage, and the weaning stage, so its resistance and immunity are much better. At that point, basic cleaning becomes necessary, but there are still many important details to pay attention to.
For example, the bath water is generally recommended to be around 30 to 35 degrees Celsius, although this should be adjusted according to the actual season and weather. In winter, that temperature may be slightly too low, while in summer it can be more appropriate.
You should always use a shampoo made specifically for dogs. During bathing, the shampoo should be diluted first and then applied to the dog's body. When rinsing, be very careful not to let water enter the puppy's eyes, ears, or nose.
The most important step is drying. If the dog is not dried properly after the bath, many health problems can follow.
