Pomeranians are quite intelligent, so with a little training they can often achieve surprisingly good results. Even so, owners still need to be scientific and use the right methods, because this makes training easier and more efficient.

Luring Makes Training More Effective
For example, when teaching a dog to shake hands, it may not understand the action at first. In that case, hold a small treat in your hand and let the dog see it, but do not give it the food yet. Most dogs become excited and pay close attention when they see a treat. After showing the food, stretch out your hand and place the dog's paw on it. At first it may pull the paw back. Gently repeat the action, hold the paw in place for a moment, and then reward it with the treat. After enough repetition, the dog understands that offering its paw brings a reward.

How to Train a Pomeranian to Toilet in a Fixed Place
Puppies often relieve themselves everywhere when they are young, but they usually have regular elimination times, often around three times a day, especially in the morning, after meals, and before sleep. If the owner remembers those times and brings the puppy to the chosen toilet spot whenever it shows signs of needing to go, the dog will gradually learn to use that location.

Learn to Use a Clear Stop Signal
A prohibition command tells the Pomeranian that it has done something wrong. When the dog shows bad behavior, the owner should give the stop signal immediately. The attitude must be serious and the tone must be firm, not joking, so the dog understands the owner's authority.

Teach the Sit Command
This is one of the most common basic behaviors. If the dog learns to sit, it generally shows that it is beginning to listen. The owner can hold a favorite toy or snack, give the command, and lure the dog into a sit. If it does not sit, the owner can help guide it into the position. Once it completes the action, reward it with the toy or food. After enough repetitions, most dogs will understand the command clearly.
