Name Your Dog First
Start by giving your Beagle a name. At first it may not react, but after a few weeks it will get used to the sound and understand that its owner is calling.

Keep Commands Clear
Use simple commands such as sit, down, come, go, and fetch. Speak clearly each time you give an instruction so the puppy can build a stable association.
Reward and Correct Consistently
Dogs are emotionally sensitive animals, so they respond strongly to rewards and corrections. Praise, food rewards, gestures, and tone of voice can all be used, but the standard should remain consistent. Pat its head, say "good dog," and give a small treat when it performs well.
If it makes a mistake, correct it promptly and give only mild punishment. Create some distance so it understands that the behavior was wrong, rather than frightening it.

Basic Beagle Training Steps
To teach a puppy where to urinate, watch for signs that it is searching for a toilet spot and guide it to the place you have chosen. Once it finishes there, praise it and give a treat. If it relieves itself elsewhere, take it back to the spot, let it smell what it did, and correct it so it learns the right place.
Beagle puppies are often disobedient when they have just left their mother and littermates. They can feel lonely and crave comfort, so many will cry at night and try to sleep on the owner's bed. Prepare a clean and dry crate before bringing the puppy home. At bedtime, place a small treat inside, give a "go to bed" command, and leave a ticking clock in the crate so the puppy feels less alone. After a few days, it will usually settle down and return to its own bed naturally.
