Step 1: Brushing
Brushing removes dirt, dust, mud, skin debris, and other impurities from the coat and skin. It also stimulates the skin, promotes blood circulation, relieves fatigue, increases coat shine, helps prevent parasite breeding, and reduces the risk of skin disease.

Step 2: Bathing
A Dogo Argentino should be bathed every four to eight weeks. If your Dogo is younger than eight weeks old, ask your veterinarian before bathing it, because young puppies catch chills easily and may also react sensitively to some grooming products. The coat should be brushed before every bath, because if there are tangles, they will only tighten after getting wet.
Owners should choose a shampoo and conditioner suitable for the Dogo Argentino, although the conditioner is optional. Before washing, you can apply some eye ointment to help protect the eyes. Be sure to rinse all foam thoroughly, because leftover cleanser on the skin may cause allergies.
Because the Dogo Argentino catches cold easily, you should dry the coat with a hair dryer afterward. Do not let the dog go outside before it is completely dry.
(1) Use cotton to block both ear canals so dirty water does not flow inside.
(2) Hold the dog's head or muzzle slightly upward with one hand to prevent water from entering the ears or eyes.
(3) After wetting the coat, use shampoo to clean the body. If the hair on the paws is heavily stained, you can additionally use a medicated shampoo with whitening, cleansing, antibacterial, or insect-control effects in an appropriate amount.
