Toilet training a Labrador
The first useful lesson is usually toilet training, because this saves a lot of trouble in later daily care. First, choose a fixed toilet location for the Labrador. Then prepare either a dog toilet tray or old newspapers, and place a little of the dog's own urine scent there to attract it to eliminate in that spot. Once the location has been chosen, do not change it casually. If the Labrador does not eliminate in the toilet area, it may be corrected verbally, but hitting the dog is not recommended. Clean up accidents promptly. When the Labrador successfully eliminates in the proper place, stroke its head and back and reward it with a small snack it likes. This helps the dog remember the correct behavior and become willing to repeat it.
