Positive rewards
When a Samoyed does what you ask, always use positive rewards so the dog understands that you like that behavior. Dogs do not naturally know which actions are correct and which are wrong. If you want a Samoyed to act according to your expectations, you must guide it in the right way. Building behavior habits depends heavily on the rewards and guidance you provide.
Firm attitude
Dogs naturally tend to follow a strong and reliable leader, so the owner should establish leadership. The owner is not only the provider of food and the one who starts games, but also the guide of behavior. The right attitude is calm and firm, while still friendly and gentle. That kind of attitude is more likely to earn a Samoyed's cooperation.

Steady tone of voice
A dog's reaction often depends on the owner's attitude. Commands spoken in a stable and firm tone help the Samoyed feel secure and make it easier for the dog to obey. When warning the dog, a stronger voice may be appropriate so the dog understands the boundary. In other words, your voice can be used to stop unwanted behavior, but it should still remain controlled rather than emotional.
Long-lasting patience
The result of training depends not only on how fast the dog learns but also on repeated long-term practice. Patience and consistency are extremely important. Every behavior can become a training opportunity. Some puppies repeat the same mistake many times, but repeated guidance helps them understand what is allowed and what is not. If repeated training still fails to produce the expected result and the owner begins to lose patience, it is better to pause and continue later rather than forcing the issue and making things worse.

Consistent rules
Rules must stay consistent. Otherwise, the Samoyed will become confused and not know what is expected. Commands should be reasonable, firm, and clear, but the most important thing is that they are enforced consistently. If the dog behaves in a way that breaks the rules, everyone in the family should respond the same way. For example, if you scold the Samoyed for jumping on you when you are dressed up, but allow it to jump all over you when you are relaxing at home, the dog receives mixed signals and becomes confused. In a dog's world, rules need to feel clear, with no grey area.
Immediate response
Training opportunities appear everywhere and all the time. Whenever you see your puppy doing something you like, such as looking at you, following you, or greeting you happily without jumping up, let the dog know it did well. Reward immediately, because immediate praise strengthens learning. When the dog does something wrong, correct it right away with a firm ?No.? If you wait until afterward to scold or punish, it will only confuse the dog, damage trust, and make the Samoyed afraid of you. If your reaction is delayed even by a short time, the dog may not understand what it is being corrected for.
Verbal correction
You should choose a specific word such as ?Stop,? ?No,? or another short cue to express disapproval. The correction should not be full of anger or emotion. Its purpose is simply to get the puppy's attention. A short, sharp sound works best. There is no need to shout or scream, and you should not use the dog's own name as the word for correction, because the dog's name should always be associated with positive things.
Ignore bad behavior when appropriate
Puppies often bark to attract the owner's attention, and barking often works because it gets a reaction. Many owners try to stop barking directly, but in some situations the best method is to ignore it. You can leave the room and give no response until the barking stops. The puppy will soon learn that barking makes you leave rather than stay. This can be effective, but as mentioned before, your attitude must remain consistent and firm. When a puppy behaves rudely, training can gradually shape its behavior into something more acceptable. This process may consume a great deal of your patience, but in the end it can produce a well-behaved Samoyed. If you give in or go soft at the wrong moment, the dog may develop bad habits that lead to many later problems.

Now let us look at some simple daily training tasks.
Name training
The first important event when a Samoyed enters the home is usually choosing its name. How do you help the puppy become used to the name it will carry for life? While it is happily playing, eating, or being praised, call its name in a bright and cheerful tone to attract its attention. Repeating the name often in positive moments helps the dog quickly understand that the sound refers to itself.
Toilet training
After play, after waking up, or after eating, a Samoyed will often circle around and sniff the floor when it is about to eliminate. That is the signal. Quickly take it to the chosen toilet area, and after it finishes, praise it. After enough repetition, it will remember where it is supposed to go. Before the toilet habit is fully established, never use beating, yelling, or rubbing the nose into the waste as punishment. That only creates fear and makes the dog harder to train.
Night barking training
When a dog first arrives in an unfamiliar environment, its mood is often unstable, and it may take two or three days to adapt. As a result, it may whimper or bark at night. At that time, you can give it familiar objects that carry scent, a toy, or even a regularly ticking clock, because the repetitive sound can resemble a heartbeat and help the dog feel safer. Letting the dog rest where it can see the owner may also reduce anxiety.
Feeding training
Try to spend the first few days closely with the puppy and make sure you personally feed it, because at that age food is one of the strongest motivators. It quickly helps the puppy recognize you as its owner. Dogs also prefer a fixed place for meals, which strengthens habit formation. Some dogs like to drag part of the food out of the bowl and eat it on the floor, so placing newspaper underneath can help. If you have more than one dog, feed them separately and give each one its own bowl to prevent conflict and unequal distribution.
