Many people feel frustrated when raising a Husky. They want to train the dog but do not know where to start, so they eventually fall back on simple scolding or punishment. The problem is that the Husky often does not understand what it did wrong. That is exactly why more scientific training methods are needed. Here are four useful tips for training a Husky more effectively.

Tip 1: Give the Husky a simple name and do not keep changing it. Huskies have sharp hearing. If the owner consistently uses the same name, the dog will gradually understand that the sound refers to itself. Whenever the Husky responds to its name, reward it.
Tip 2: Do not hit or scold the puppy immediately when it is naughty. A young Husky that has just arrived home is often playful and may bite things or make trouble. At that time, instead of hitting or yelling, you can briefly confine the dog to a crate and let it calm down before releasing it. However, do not give treats right away, or the Husky may think the whole process was a reward.

Tip 3: Teach self-control at mealtime. When a puppy becomes overly excited before food, do not give the meal immediately. Put the food down, then take it away again if the Husky rushes forward. Repeat this until you can place the food on the ground and the Husky remains sitting calmly. Only then should it be allowed to eat.
Tip 4: Teach the ?sit? command with consistent assistance. When the owner gives the command ?sit,? gently guide the dog so that it feels its hindquarters move toward the ground. If the Husky succeeds, give a reward. After several repetitions, most Huskies can learn it.
In fact, training a Husky is not impossible. What matters most is patience. Timely encouragement helps a great deal, while scolding and beating solve very little. With calm repetition and clear structure, a Husky can learn much more than many people expect.
